Did you know there over 40 Rotary Clubs supported by eight Assistant DGs who are the connection between the clubs and the district? ADGs activities include:
Meet with each club at least once a quarter either in person, by phone, or by web conference to discuss their concerns and needs, and provide information, resources, and advice that will allow them to be more successful.
Keep the governor up to date on each club’s progress and identify areas that may need attention.
Help club leaders prepare for the governor’s official visit.
Monitor the progress of their clubs toward their goals.
October 11th - We did not have a regular lunch meeting today. We had a fantastic Fireside and toured a property being considered by our Rotary Centre Steering Committee. See the photos here.

October 25th - Big Brothers Big Sisters were back to visit our club today.
New Executive Director Robin Heald (above) was joined by past ED Jarvis Strong and Deb Piggot.
Rotarian Jean was seriously injured in an accident involving fireworks when preparing for the recent District Conference. Jean continues to recover in Sunnybrook Hospital, so please continue to keep Jean in your thoughts and pray for a complete recovery.
We always love to give away awards. Recently we were able to honour Rotarians Karen Willison and Paul Darby with Paul Harris Fellow pins in recognition of their support of the Rotary International Foundation. The Foundation was recently named one of the top ten charities in the world. It develops projects around the world and includes Polio Plus the fight to make Polio the second disease to ever be eradicated.
It is hard to believe given the weather but Christmas is approaching. With it comes the needs of many people looking for some help with food and gifts. Major Neil has approached us to give the Salvation Army sweat equity assistance during the Christmas season.

Driver Food Pick Up
Starting Dec. 6-16 Mon-Fri. One Driver Needed (helpers welcome) per day 2-3 hours to pick up food from predetermined route

On Saturday evening (April 8) District 7010 is hosting its Foundation Dinner at the Grande Event Centre. All Rotary Weekend attendees and guests are encouraged to attend. Even if you are not attending Rotary Weekend, don’t miss this opportunity to celebrate 100 Years of the Rotary Foundation. More information will follow.

Accommodation is at a premium. Rooms are going quickly and difficult to come by! The District has secured two blocks of rooms.
Hilton Garden Inn Atlanta Downtown: Rooms are 235USD plus taxes per night which includes a hot breakfast. The hotel is .3 km from the Congress Centre and newly renovated.
Hyatt Atlanta Midtown: Rooms are 195USD plus taxes per night. This does not include breakfast. Breakfast can be purchased at the hotel for 14USD. The hotel is 2 km from the Congress Centre and a block from the metro. It is in the heart of many restaurants and attractions.

Our new Board of Directors is at the helm and testing out a new structure which consists of a smaller Board that works with a Leadership Team. The Board has also assumed oversight for fundraising and public relations, and will continue to receive support from many individual members and sub-committees who oversee various tasks and responsibilities that keep the club running.
