November Meetings
Our newest Rotarian - Meet Phil Jackson (L) who received a special induction from Bryn Styles (R), Trustee with the Rotary Foundation.
 
 
November 1st - Mike Kinsey, District Governor-Elect visited to update us on the 2017 District Conference which will be held at the Blue Mountain Resort. Find out more about Mike at http://portal.clubrunner.ca/50040/SitePage/district-7010-conference-2017/dg-mike-kinsey. 
 
 
November 8th - Jeremy Rhodes from Elephant Thoughts presented an update on their work in Tanzania. By partnering with our Club, the Simcoe County District School Board, Saunders Book Company, the Rotary Club of Collingwood SGB and others, we were able to provide a school library with books, furniture for six schools and even start a new Rotary Club. Well done all!

November 15th - Joe Saunders, Home Horizon's Fundraising Chair gave us an update on their work with homeless youth and their capital project - the Barbara Weider House for Young People.
 
 
November 22nd - We had a special guest today, Bryn Styles, trustee with the Rotary Foundation. We had lots of visitors including Honourary members and guests from the South Georgian Bay Club.  Check out the photos here.

November 29th - Great presentation this week from CGMH CEO Guy Chartrand. It was a easy to see and hear the passion that is transforming our local hospital - thank you Guy!
 
 
Rotarian John McNiven prepares a cheque for CGMH for $17,000+ which are the proceeds from another successful Scotch Nosing and Noshing this year.
 
 
December Trip of the Month Winners
Listen to The Peak FM the first Tuesday each month around 8:40 a.m. for the live draw of our monthly winners.
 
This month Andrew Hims won the $125 cash prize, ticket sold by Paul Darby. The trip was won by Susan Dawe sold by Ian McAllister.

Rotary International Conference - 2017 in Atlanta
The Atlanta 2017 Rotary International Convention promises to be unparalleled.  Not only will it offer the opportunity to learn, be inspired and enjoy fellowship, it is the culmination of the yearlong celebration of our Rotary Foundation and “100 Years of Doing Good in the World”.  For more info or to register visit the conference website.
 
Accommodations:
Accommodation is at a premium. Rooms are going quickly and difficult to come by!  The District has secured two blocks of rooms.
 
Hilton Garden Inn Atlanta Downtown: Rooms are 235USD plus taxes per night which includes a hot breakfast. The hotel is .3 km from the Congress Centre and newly renovated.
 
Hyatt Atlanta Midtown: Rooms are 195USD plus taxes per night.  This does not include breakfast.  Breakfast can be purchased at the hotel for 14USD.  The hotel is 2 km from the Congress Centre and a block from the metro.  It is in the heart of many restaurants and attractions.

  • Indicate your preference of hotel
  • Indicate if you will accept your second choice if the first choice is not available

Our new Board of Directors is at the helm and testing out a new structure which consists of a smaller Board that works with a Leadership Team. The Board has also assumed oversight for fundraising and public relations, and will continue to receive support from many individual members and sub-committees who oversee various tasks and responsibilities that keep the club running.
