Meet at 199 Campbell St at 12:15 pm on Tuesday, Sept. 8th
On the agenda: I know you're just getting back from summer mode after Labour Day, but you won't want to miss this. Get the inside scoop on our new hospital. Lee Skovsgaard, Philanthropy Officer. Sandra Taylor, CEO of Collingwood General and Marine Hospital Foundation, and Cathy Renaud, Vice President of Hospital Development, will provide updates on hospital development and campaign progress. This will complement Mel's RVH Foundation in July. Maybe we have a hospital fundraiser in the future?
Also: club shirt update. Come ready to see what we've picked out and to place an order.
On the menu: Tim will be at the meeting, but he can't provide catering this week. We will order Chinese Food. If you have preferences, send them to Jan by early Tuesday morning.
A couple of meetings ago, we collected empties to help out Hope Chapel's high school program, which provides lunch and a welcoming place for students to connect. Member, Colleen took the lead and between the collection at the meeting and some additional empties she secured from friends and a FB post, we donated $50. (Don't worry, Kinsmen, we see you. Collecting empties won't be our regular thing, just a one-off to quickly help out Hope Chapel). Thanks, Colleen. Even small acts make a difference, show community and spread positive vibes.
If you missed the last meeting, here are the highlights:
We had a lovely evening visit at Duntroon Highlands Golf Course ahead of our Mutts and Putts Golf Tournament. Stacie from Duntroon provided information, answered questions, and generously donated a Duntroon Highlands Golf Membership as an auction item for our tournament. We also had the pleasure of being joined by Nancy Clemente and Jeannine Guth from Rotary - Oil City. Nancy and Jeanine were vacationing in Collingwood and contacted us about joining a meeting. It was great to hear about their club and learn a little about Oil City (approx 9500 people, site of the early oil boom, now with a different local economy).
Upcoming meetings:
September 22nd evening meeting - Introducing Vincent! We will learn more about Vincent. Vincent has been busy helping with Mutts and Putts, so many of us already know him pretty well. Get more details at this meeting!
October 8th lunch meeting - prepare for Mutts and Putts.
Looking Forward to Seeing You at Tomorrow's Lunch.
