Our Legacy Project:
The Rotary Community Hub

In 2017 the Rotary Club of Collingwood set a goal to create a legacy project. Over time the idea of a Rotary landmark emerged, and the concept of the Rotary Community Hub was established. To create social-purpose real estate:

  • as a social enterprise to generate revenue for investing in community capacity-building initiatives;
  • a cost-shared building with offices and meeting rooms for community service organizations; and
  • indoor and outdoor spaces for community collaboration and social connections to develop and thrive.

By partnering with the New Path Foundation, Community Connection, New Path Child and Family Services, and Catulpa Community Services, we renovated a 7,000-square-foot century-old warehouse. In addition to the warehouse, the property consists of a 3-bedroom home/double garage, a 2,200-square-foot barn, and 4 acres of land within a walkable neighbourhood.

Looking to the future, the partners envision a shared services campus, with numerous organizations and meeting rooms surrounded by green space for outdoor activity.

Our Legacy Project is a long-term investment in our community, providing a solid foundation for the future.
